A New Anointing

The anointment is now with Ben Gay
When it used to be sweet oil
Repayment for the days
When I provided, worked and toiled

I have a more steadied pace
I take each step a little slower
I don’t have to win a race
I can keep my voice much lower

God’s grace provides the ease
My body and mind do feel His touch
Balms of healing for aching knees
Warm compresses are needed much

I delighted running for Him
But before I ran for self
His work accomplished much
Mine, just collections on a shelf

Enjoy the fruits of God’s sweet labor
Enjoy His comforts as you should
God continues to show favor
Rub on the right side, ooh, that feels good

Ecclesiastes 12: 1-6 Honor and enjoy your Creator while you’re
still young, Before the years take their toll and your vigor wanes,
Before your vision dims and the world blurs
And the winter years keep you close to the fire.

In old age, your body no longer serves you so well.
Muscles slacken, grip weakens, joints stiffen.
The shades are pulled down on the world.
You can’t come and go at will. Things grind to a halt.
