Dance With The Devil

I danced with the devil last evening
I danced with the devil all night
I awakened next to him next morning
To my flesh it was great delight
The dance we performed was of anger
The steps we took were of lust
We dipped close to the edges of danger
Such a risk felt so good to us
Our feet moved with envy so lightly
Our heels with sweet jealously clicked
Our knees bent, we bowed just so slightly
Just enough so we could enemies kick
We whispered our gossip and lies
As we drew more intimate in dance
We looked deeply in each other’s eyes
It was a dangerous, delightful romance
Be careful whom you dance with this evening
Take note of the partner you choose
In the morning, you find he’s not leaving
If he asks you to dance, just refuse

1Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
