There are only two kinds of people
To distinguish I tell you how
Those who wonder what if
And those who ask what now
What if has the luxury of time
Money and things it endows
Will I survive or recover
Are the questions of the what nows
I missed my bus for work
I won’t get paid what now
What if I don’t get my car washed
Can it go unnoticed somehow
What if my stocks lose value
What if I don’t get promotion
What now my job doesn’t need me
I can stay if I consent to demotion
Two kinds of people two questions
Two different ways of seeing ahead
One with enough stuff and options
The other filled with fear and dread
One watches madness and mayhem
Sees wars and rumors of wars
The other held captive by bars and wires
Dreading who knocks on their doors
Which are the questions you ask
What options do you possess
To put this in clearer perspective
Having choice means you have the best
What if your role is reversed
Your fortunes are overturned
What now would be your new position
Prayerfully you had time to learn
