What Breaks God’s Heart

It’s not the tens of millions
Who never know His name
Not the endless wars
He won’t hold me to blame

It’s not the starving masses
Nor those who die from thirst
The naked refugees
Nor those who suffer worst

Oh yes His heart is grieved
After all He is the great I Am
But what really breaks His heart
Is that I just don’t give a d*mn

Oh yes some might take great offense
That I have so gruffly spoken
But the sense of indignation
Is a farce, a mere token

I pretend to wince and cry
At the tragic news today
And I feel I have done my duty
From the emotions I display

Then it’s on to my daily topics
What’s on tonight to entertain
Who will win the next awards?
Will tomorrow’s sky be rain?

I pretend to care, why bother?
If I won’t move or even budge
That is what breaks my Father’s heart
That is how He our God will judge

As I treat the Least of These
As I ignore those who are nearest
As I look down and not lift up
The poor and broken who God holds dearest

Oh yes His heart is touched
By each tragedy of mankind
But what truly breaks His heart
Is the fact that I don’t mind

I am not bothered by their pain
I am not moved to lend a hand
What breaks my Father’s heart
Is I don’t seem to give a d*mn

“Matthew 25: 40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”
