The things that I acquire
Reflect the God that I admire
Gathering more serving less
Seeking worldly fame success
Full accounts impressive banking
Reveals the God I’m really thanking
Numb indifferent to those who suffer
Seeking only my financial buffer
Closets full of things unused
Shows what pleases and amuse
Crowds out the voices of the poor
As I seek yet more and more
Serving those who have the least
Helping them find joy and peace
Can only be my true desire
When it is Christ I most admire
Power, prestige, recognition
Influence, highly sought position
Come with a hefty weighty price
Release those burdens seek the Christ
No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
Luke 16:13 KJV
But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
