The Soul Departs The Clay

There is for each of us
An unpredictable approaching day
Sometimes without warning
As my soul departs my clay

Our Creator and life giver
Has appointed without delay
Our next breath could be last
Then my soul departs my clay

As I awaken every morning
I make these the words I pray
Dear Lord use my life please
Before my soul departs my clay

Use my life to lift those fallen
Hopeless, who’ve lost their way
I should give freely of my substance
Before my soul departs the clay

I need to emphasize, friends, that our natural, earthy lives don’t in themselves lead us by their very nature into the kingdom of God. Their very “nature” is to die, so how could they “naturally” end up in the Life kingdom?
