Whom To Hate

The soldier asked his Commander
A question we all could relate
Friend and foe look so much alike
How can we know whom to hate?

There is a slight distinction
In their speech I do detect flaws
If I hold them in prolonged isolation
I’m within confines of present laws

If they shout and make great demands
I can pretend that I just don’t hear
After all that’s what Jesus would do
He would make them cower in fear

Though some may be good people
The bad ones are hard to detect
But if I let any of them live near me
Who will my interests protect?

The Commander gave a soft retort
You must have read the wrong orders
I AM the King of all lands
I don’t respect nations or borders

My commands is to love My creations
That My love they know and can’t doubt
Love them all with genuine compassion
I AM THE ONLY ONE who sorts out

If ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your hurt:
Jeremiah 7:6 KJV

That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?

And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
